Fast and Easy Sensor Replacement
The SCM4 and ACM4 replacement CO sensor (RCM4)
comes electronically calibrated and can be purchased
directly from your distributor. Simply plug in your new
sensor and your SCM4 is automatically
calibrated to factory standards. With normal use, the
RCM4 can last for approximately two years. Sensor life is
highly dependent on exposure level to CO & Contaminants.
Repeated exposure to contaminants will shorten the
life of the sensor.
Storage of your SCM4 Carbon Monoxde Meter to help preserve Sensor Life.
Do not leave your SCM4 in the Truck or Van where it is exposed to chemicals, fumes, solvents & glues. The precision sensor needs to be respected to offer the best results. If external contamination occurs, it may ruin the sensor or it may take several days to re-stabalise in an non-contaminated environment.
DO NOT test directly at Car Exhausts, Gas flues etc - do the Cup Test as per the manual instructions
If you are not using it, store in a dry location away from harmful pollutants. Remove the battery if long term storage is needed.
